Chemicals, oil and gas

The close interaction between testing and inspection makes us unique and adds value beyond what accreditation gives. By way of example, we can supplement surveys with advanced testing services. An extensive range of services and several employees with many years of experience are other reasons why companies in the process industry turn to us.

DEKRA has an extensive service portfolio including advanced non-destructive testing, statutory inspections, condition monitoring, manufacturing inspection, CE marking, welding-related services, classification according to ATEX and risk analysis of various kinds. We also have a number of laboratories across Europe and two are under construction in Sweden. The Gothenburg lab can carry out material analysis and failure analysis.

Non-destructive testing methods NDT

We check the reliability of pressure equipment such as tanks and pipes, and various lifting devices. To detect cracks, we use NDT including ultrasonic testing, magnetic powder testing, penetrant testing and x-ray radiography. We also perform condition monitoring of piping systems in operation by using profile x-rays and other advanced testing methods.

International project management

DEKRA operates in 50 countries, which means we can offer manufacturing inspection even when it comes to large international projects. In the context of expediting, we can help with delivery and quality control in the purchase of equipment and help ensure that budgets and schedules are kept.

Risk-based inspection

DEKRA is currently undergoing accreditation for what is called risk-based inspection. This means a great responsibility for the companies involved when it comes to producing risk assessments for pressure equipment. Our experts are here to share their knowledge in this area by providing advice on matters relating to both the technology and legal aspects.
