Food and pharmaceuticals

There are plenty of steam systems in the food and pharmaceutical industries. DEKRA performs inspections of pressure vessels, pipe systems and valves as well as making purity checks using cameras and fibre optics. Packing machinery and lifting devices are also among the items we inspect.

DEKRA is engaged by companies in industries such as jam manufacturing, frozen and convenience foods, bakeries, breweries, distilleries and pharmaceuticals. Steam systems are used to deliver everything from carbon dioxide and nitrogen gas to hot water and hot oil, such as those used in frying tables where the temperature reaches as high as 250-350˚C.

With the help of non-destructive testing methods NDT such as X-ray testing, ultrasonic testing and leak testing of valves and tubes, we ensure that safety and purity is maintained. We also perform seal testing of piping in walls by using cameras and up to 15 m long fibre optics.

DEKRA also offers a range of services in the area of Safety, Health and Environment HSE and helps companies to become certified to OHSAS 18000, an international standard for the work environment. We have formed a special group within DEKRA to analyse a plant from a holistic perspective to help companies all the way from concept to administration.
