A full range of testing services, development of mechanised testing systems, and extensive expertise in pressure retaining devices and lifting equipment makes DEKRA unique in Scandinavia. No other company can offer all this in a single organisation.

Non-destructive testing NDT

In the case of NDT, we can offer all methods of manual testing. And we develop and implement production control and assembly verification using mechanised systems based on conventional methods and procedures. We are also one of the leading companies in advanced mechanised testing with our own development resources. In addition to testing technology, our proprietary testing systems include control systems and manipulators.

DEKRA has a turnkey system for testing connecting pieces and tank welds in PWR reactors, and has developed testing systems for mechanised PT, MT and VT. DEKRA has also developed general qualified procedures such as UT-01, RT-01 and TJ-01. With regard to the general procedure UT-01, DEKRA has the most operators in Sweden who have mastered the detection, characterisation and sizing of defects.

DEKRA is accredited as a testing laboratory to ISO/IEC 17025. The accreditation shows that we meet the requirements for independence and competence in accordance with the regulations of the Swedish Work Environment Authority (Arbetsmiljöverket) and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (Strålsäkerhetsmyndigheten). As a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, along with several other accreditations at the company, we can provide an extensive range of services with major synergy gains.

Pressure expertise

DEKRA has expertise in all types of inspection and monitoring for all kinds of pressure retaining devices such as: pressure vessels, boilers, tanks and pipelines. We employ around 100 inspection engineers in the field, some of which have combined expertise in pressure and testing, pressure, and lifting or lifting and testing.

DEKRA is an accredited inspection body to ISO/IEC 17020, with accreditation number 4390. The accreditation process includes inspections with regard to

regulations from the Swedish Work Environment Authority, the Swedish Board of Housing, Building and Planning, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency.

DEKRA is a notified body for EC Directives: Pressure vessels and equipment PED – 97/23/EC and transportable pressure vessels and equipment TPED - 99/36/EC.

Lifting expertise

Within the lifting technical field, we perform a number of assignments for our clients known as voluntary inspections or assignments where there is no regulatory requirements for third-party inspections. Many of these assignments and inspections are carried out by following the same procedures applicable to third-party inspections.

The inspections include various types of condition analysis to determine the condition of the lifting equipment and remaining service life. The inspections also include non-destructive testing NDT of specific sections of the steel structure of the cranes.

DEKRA also conduct risk assessments in accordance with the Swedish Work Environment Authority regulations AFS 2006:04 "Use of Work Equipment" and AFS 2006:06 "Use of lifting devices and lifting accessories" and assist with the CE marking in accordance with the European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

DEKRA also provides various types of training courses such as: Driver training for mobile work platforms and safe lifting (use and regulations for various types of lifting devices).
