  • Experienced specialists

Our primary mission is to maximise safety and minimise downtime for all pieces of equipment that are under our supervision.

To achieve this we have put together a group that works primarily with the paper and pulp industry. It is composed of experienced experts with special expertise in the applicable rules and regulations, test methods and how to write easy to understand and concise reports.

Pulp and paper

Dekra assists both manufacturers of components for the pulp and paper industry and those who are responsible for the operation of a mill.

We have inspectors that are available for decommissioning. The group can carry out inspections, investigations, schematics analysis, non-destructive testing and inspections of recovery boilers, boilers and lifting devices.

For all inspections, the history of the equipment is of major importance. For this reason we have developed a protocol which we call Inspection information. It is a planning document that makes inspections safer and faster.

Through our membership of the Swedish Norwegian Recovery Boiler Committee (Sodahuskommittén), the Injuries Group (Skadegruppen) and the Fibreline Committee (Fiberlinjekommittén) we contribute to investigations of injuries in the forestry industry. This provides us with invaluable knowledge of how to increase operational safety and reduce the risk of injuries occurring.

Support for manufacturers

We advise manufacturers in all aspects of your manufacturing from enquiries to finished products. This could include tenders, contacts, classifications, risk analyses and design and manufacturing inspections. Our experts will be able to provide you with advice as regards design, materials, welding, testing, documentation and CE marking.

Non-destructive tests are often performed during the manufacturing process. This may include inspections for welded joints, bends and other adaptations. Users occasionally place high demands on the equipment. For boiler tubes, we can perform what is called zero measurement using FST-GAGE®. In the inspections that follow, we can then identify whether the tubes have been affected by corrosion, erosion, or any other condition.

We have extensive knowledge and experience of the manufacturing industry conditions and the rules that apply for pressure equipment. This applies particularly to the European Pressure Equipment Directive PED 97/23/EC and the Swedish Work Environment Authority's instruction AFS 1999:4.
