DEKRA Industrial (former ÅF-Kontroll AB) is part of the DEKRA Group, which has a number of notified bodies in Europe to facilitate the performance of assignments that relate to equipment in more than one country. We also cooperate with other notified bodies that have local offices around the world that have PED expertise.
PED Pressure vessels
PED stands for Pressure Equipment Directive. PED's official designation is 97/23/EC. PED is one of the directives that the EU has decided to apply for certain products. In Sweden, the Swedish Work Environment Authority AFS 1999:4 regulation applies to pressure equipment such as pressure vessels, piping, pressure accessories, safety equipment and aggregates.

Standards
We also work to certain international standards:
Where do the inspections take place?
Design reviews are conducted in our offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.
Manufacturing inspections are conducted by our inspection engineers on site where the manufacturing takes place and, in certain instances, in the installation. If manufacture takes place abroad we frequently delegate responsibility for inspection to the notified body that is closest geographically.
