Our range of testing methods means we can, for instance, detect cracks and corrosion attacks and measure and determine the thickness and structure of various materials in order to ensure quality over their service life and durability.
This will help you take maximum advantage of the service life of the components and material and simultaneously prevent breakdowns and accidents in your operations.
We specialise in non-destructive testing
DEKRA Industrial (formerly ÅF-Kontroll AB) is accredited by the Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment (SWEDAC) to carry out independent, third-party non-destructive testing (NDT) in accordance with the requirements of the relevant authorities in Sweden. This accreditation also includes the supplementary requirements imposed by the Swedish Work Environment Authority and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority.
DEKRA can offer a full spectrum of testing services for both design reviews/manufacturing inspections, periodic inspections and condition monitoring.
Manufacturing inspections/Periodic inspections
We perform non-destructive testing employing all of the more commonly used methods:
- Gamma ray radiography
- Magnetic-powder testing
- Penetrant testing
- X-ray inspection
- Ultrasonic testing
- Eddy current testing
- Visual testing
Condition monitoring
To ascertain the condition of components in use we employ various NDT methods, either individually or in combination. Examples include:
- Testing boiler tubes
- Testing storage-tank bottoms
- Evaluations of creep damage
- Inspection of insulated pipework
- Optical inspection of areas that are difficult to access
Rope Access
Using the rope access technique means we can cut costs and reduce downtime associated with non-destructive tests and inspections. In process environments where space is restricted, and it is difficult to access with cranes and scaffolding, rope access allows a greater range of options and saves time.
DEKRA Industrial has a partnership agreement with Rope Access AB. Read more in our brochure: Industrial Rope Access Our partner, Rope Access website: www.ropeaccess.se
